In the method of communicating with a network node in a wireless device, receiving a resource configuration for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and selecting a PUCCH resource based on a resource configuration from a subset with cardinality of 8 of 16 PUCCH resources, wherein the resource configuration for the PUCCH is for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) aggregation layer equal to 16, wherein the subset with cardinality 8 corresponds to PUCCH resources with an even index of 16 PUCCH resources.

EFFECT: provision of additional capabilities for selecting a PUCCH resource, for example, before establishing a dedicated RRC configuration between a wireless device and a network node.
