FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a charge for making a refractory article, a method of making a refractory article, a refractory article, as well as use of synthetic raw material. Charge for making a sintered refractory article contains a refractory ceramic raw material, mainly based on magnesite, burnt dolomite or spinel, with MgO content of at least 50 wt. %, as well as at least one synthetic raw material, which is a body in the form of plates or rods, in which the ratio (thickness):( width):(length) is (1):(≥1 and ≤ length):(≥3). Bodies have length of 1–30 mm and consist of sintered grains of at least one refractory material, wherein clay minerals contain less than 10 % by weight relative to total weight of bodies. Bodies can include at least one of the following refractory materials: magnesia, spinel, corundum, zirconium dioxide, etc. Refractory article is obtained by firing said mixture, note here that said device consists of first region made of refractory ceramic raw material containing periclase and second regions consisting of sintered bodies. First area differs in structure from the second areas. Portion of sintered bodies in article is 0.5–30 % by volume.
EFFECT: reduced fragility of articles due to reduced modulus of elasticity.
