FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to fireproof materials based on magnesium oxide. According to the method for producing granular material, sintered magnesia is produced by sintering pressed granules from MgO powder, preferably from caustic MgO powder, and by subsequent mechanical grinding of the pressed granules. Sintering is carried out at a temperature below 1600°C in such a way that the granular material has a total porosity according to DIN EN 993-1:1195-04 and DIN EN 993-18:1999-01 from 15 to 38 vol. %, preferably from 20 to 38 vol. %. The charge for producing a coarse-ceramic refractory molded or unmolded product contains the specified porous sintered material. Products obtained from the charge are used in the internal lining and/or masonry without facing a large-volume industrial furnace, for example, a furnace for firing magnesia and dolomite, a furnace in non-ferrous metallurgy, a cement furnace, a rotating furnace for firing lime, a steelmaking furnace.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is an increase in compressive strength for the charge when obtaining products with high porosity and low thermal conductivity with low alkali infiltration.
