FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of basic refractory materials on carbon bond, which can be used for lining of oxygen converters, electric arc furnaces and steel pouring ladles. Mixture for producing refractory contains, wt. %: basic refractory component of magnesian or magnesian-alumina composition of 70–96, resol binder 1.2–2.1, pitch 1.0–3.0, carbon component in form of graphite or soot 1.0–27.0, wherein mass ratio of resolving binder and pitch is from 0.5 to 1.5.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is reduction of release of volatile substances hazardous for health with preservation of refractory properties of products on carbon bond.
