FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for providing specified operating parameters, which help to reduce losses of oil and oil products from physical phenomena, and hence their release into atmosphere. Method of reducing losses of oil products stored in vertical steel tanks is that the outer surface of vertical steel tanks is painted white, electric, automatic control system is installed, which reduces to the level of average night and regulates temperature of the coolant laid in a circular pattern along the inner surface of the wall of vertical steel tanks. Control system reduces and stabilizes oil product temperature within preset limits.
EFFECT: reduction of losses of oil products during their storage in vertical steel tanks, more precisely losses at "small breaths", due to reduction and stabilization of their temperature.
