FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of optoelectronic equipment (OEE) from powerful optical radiation. Essence of the method of protecting the OEE from laser action consists in receiving the optical radiation of the OEE, dividing the incident optical radiation into two flows in the energy ratio P1 = K3P2 and P1 >> P2, where P1 is the power of the first flow, P2 is the power of the second flow, K3 is the coefficient of proportionality, the delay of the first flow relative to the second flow for a preset time tpreset, measuring the power of the second flow P2 and determining the power of the first flow as P1 = K3P2, comparing its value P1 with the threshold value Pthr, processing at P1 < Pthr of optical radiation of the first OEE stream, overlapping at P1 ≥ Pthr of the first flow for time t < tpreset and protection of the OEE from destruction by optical radiation.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of protection against optical radiation damage.
