FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of protection of optoelectronic devices (OED) and concerns a method of protecting OED from powerful laser radiation. Method involves receiving optical radiation with an optoelectronic device and passing optical radiation through a protective element mounted in front of an element of the optoelectronic device, having minimum values of radiation resistance and time of destruction under the effect of optical radiation. Protective element has radiation resistance and destruction time less than corresponding values of protected element. Protective element has spectral parameters of its and reflected optical radiation accompanying process of its destruction under effect of optical radiation, identical to corresponding parameters of protected element. Protection of OED from powerful laser radiation is carried out by destruction of the protective element and imitation of destruction of the protected element. Destroyed protective element is replaced with a new protective element.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of OED protection from laser radiation damage.
