FIELD: petrochemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to petrochemical processes and, more specifically, to a method for processing oil tar and an installation for its implementation and can be used in the petrochemical industry for high-speed processing of oil tar in order to obtain light carbon products. The invention relates to a method for high-speed processing of oil tar into liquid hydrocarbon products by pre-mixing oil tar with a catalyst: a carbon-containing adsorbent including an active component, feeding the resulting mixture into a quartz reactor, conducting a reaction at elevated temperature in a hydrogen stream when irradiated with microwave radiation, cooling and separating liquid products. As a catalyst, a carbon-containing catalyst is used, taken in an amount of 15, wt. %, relative to oil tar and containing iron oxide Fe2O3 as an active component on the surface of a carbon-containing adsorbent, or a mixture of iron oxide Fe2O3 with nickel oxide NiO at a mass ratio of 1:1, or a mixture of iron oxide Fe2O3 with molybdenum oxide MoO2 at a mass ratio of 1:1 and the content of active components in the catalyst equal to 0.5-1.0, wt. %. The hydrogen flow rate is maintained equal to 40-60 cm3/min, irradiation with microwave radiation is carried out with a wave frequency of 2.45±0.05 GHz, at the irradiation-induced temperature of the reaction zone 650-700°C, for 15-20 minutes, and when the liquid product is released, a catalyst is isolated, which is returned to the recycle.

EFFECT: increase in the yield of light liquid petroleum products, the ability to use a specified catalyst for up to five cycles without its regeneration.
