FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: versions of the invention relate to a method of producing carbon-containing adsorbent based on carbon residues of lignine reforming. Adsorbent is proposed for adsorption of aromatic compounds from waste water. Carbon-containing adsorbent is obtained from the residue of carbon dioxide reforming of lignin into synthesis gas obtained in microwave radiation in the presence of iron-containing catalysts, by further treatment with microwave radiation with frequency of 2.40–2.50 GHz and current density of 100–150 mA for 20–40 minutes in CO2 medium at a radiation-induced temperature of 950–1,000 °C. According to another version, the obtained porous carbon adsorbent is further treated with aqueous solution of ammonium hydroxide and then subjected to thermal shock in a muffle furnace at 400 °C in an Ar medium for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: increased specific surface of adsorbent and its adsorption capacity in relation to aromatic compounds.
