FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating system. Aerosol-generating device comprises a housing having a chamber configured to accommodate at least a portion of the aerosol-generating article. Chamber contains at least one heating element. Aerosol generating device comprises an induction coil arranged around at least part of the chamber and having a conical shape. Aerosol generating device comprises power supply and controller, connected to the induction coil and configured to supply alternating electric current to the induction coil so that during use the induction coil generates a fluctuation magnetic field for heating the heating element located in the chamber. Heating element is a hollow heating element comprising an inner cavity, wherein the heating element is configured to accommodate the aerosol-generating article and is placed in said chamber in said inner cavity. Hollow heating element has a bent or curved surface to facilitate insertion of the aerosol-generating article. Also disclosed is an aerosol generating system comprising an aerosol generating device.

EFFECT: optimization of aerosol-generating substrate heating and easier insertion of aerosol-generating article.
