SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to devices for generating nitrogen oxide. The device contains a case, an insulator, a pair of electrodes, a power source, a particle filter, an absorber, a controller, and a flow path. The case includes the first wall with an aperture formed in it to provide an access to a recess, as well as the second wall allowing a gas stream to pass through it. The insulator is located in the recess. Electrodes are located inside the case so that to contact with the insulator. The power source is connected to the pair of electrodes to supply electricity to the pair of electrodes to cause a chemical reaction inside the recess that generates nitrogen oxide. The filter is designed to filter particles near the second wall. The absorber is located next to the particle filter to control a number of unwanted byproducts of the chemical reaction caused by operation of the pair of electrodes. The controller is connected to the power source and is made with the possibility of selective supplying electricity to the pair of electrodes to reach one or more electric discharges between electrodes to generate nitrogen oxide inside the case. Along the flow path, nitrogen oxide is directed through the second wall of the case to the respiratory tract of a subject by means of convective transfer.

EFFECT: possibility of reduction in the need for generation of nitrogen oxide is achieved, which eliminates the need for production of greater amount of wasted gaseous nitrogen oxide.
