SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to an air purification system and protective clothing containing such a system. Air purification system is capable of generating plasma using voltage and comprises first and second electrodes, a power supply device for supplying power to the first electrode, controller and electric field meter for measurement of electric field strength between first and second electrodes. First electrode is capable of exciting electromagnetic resonance when power is supplied. Second electrode is located around the first electrode in a state separated from the first electrode. Controller controls the power supplied to the first electrode and adjusts the frequency of the supplied power. Controller also controls the position in which power is supplied to the first electrode, to provide half the length of the electromagnetic wave during electromagnetic resonance of the first electrode, which is equal to the sum of the length of the first electrode and the length of the plasma generated in the region between one end of the first electrode and the inlet of the second electrode, and a maximum increase in the output value of the signal indicating the strength of the electric field measured by the electric field meter. Protective clothing comprises a covering part, which is equipped with an air purification system and covers the surface of the human body. Air cleaning system cleans the air sucked in from the outside and supplies the cleaned air to the covering part.

EFFECT: providing an air cleaning system and protective clothing capable of destroying bacteria and viruses in the air by efficiently generating plasma while simultaneously reducing input power.
