FIELD: destructive research methods.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for non-destructive research, monitoring and diagnosing the state of a solid surface, determining the parameters of the relief and microrelief from a photograph obtained using a digital optical device and analyzed on a personal computer. A digital device for obtaining an image of a surface is equipped with a matrix of LEDs located around the lens of the digital device at equal distances from the center of the lens and from each other, providing uniform illumination of the surface with monochromatic light with a narrow width of the emission spectrum. The method consists in the fact that the surface under study is preliminarily covered with a thin, monophonic, matte, uniform layer of surface-active material with a thickness not exceeding microrelief inhomogeneities; device, while the amount of defocusing is determined by the specific type of surface and the task.

EFFECT: accurate and reliable surface profile obtained along the scan line and a surface profilogram in the form of its three-dimensional image.
