FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and can be used to obtain aluminum matrix composite materials. In the method, mixing of the reaction mixture of thermosetting components in the form of metal powders, carbon-, or nitrogen-, or boron-, or silicon-containing compounds and a matrix component is carried out. The resulting mixture is molded under pressure. The shaped samples are treated with a composition to prevent the surface of the samples from connecting with the protective environment. Then they are placed in a furnace and heated in a protective environment, which is used as an aluminum melt. The residence time of the molded samples in the environment of the aluminum melt should be sufficient to melt the matrix component in the form of aluminum powder, which is part of the molded samples. At the same time, the surface of the molded samples is treated with a boron-containing compound, which is used as dehydrated boron oxide, to prevent the connection of the surface of the samples with molten aluminum.
EFFECT: simplification of technology and exclusion of costs for special equipment and tooling.
