FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nuclear energy and is intended for use in steam turbine installations (STI) of nuclear power plants with a system of burning hydrogen in oxygen in order to overheat the working fluid of the steam turbine cycle. The magnetic separator for removing unreacted hydrogen gas from the water vapor medium includes a solenoid, a working channel for transporting the flow to be cleaned, a main pipeline made with the possibility of rectilinear direction of water vapor. In the inner part of the pipeline in the wall area around the perimeter, a selective membrane based on an alloy of palladium with silver is installed at the site of the influence of a magnetic field on the purified water vapor flow under pressure from unreacted hydrogen gas in the cycle of a steam turbine installation. On the outside, a metal magnetic material is installed around the entire solenoid. In this case, the coils of the current wire of the solenoid are located inside the water cooling jacket.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the reliability of the solenoid and the efficiency of magnetic separation of unreacted hydrogen by using a metallic magnetic material to enhance magnetic induction at a relatively low current in the solenoid.
