FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering and is intended for combustion of hydrogen in oxygen for the purpose of overheating of working medium in steam-turbine cycle of nuclear power plant (NPP). Disclosed is a combustion chamber which is built into the steam header of an NPP steam turbine plant and operates on the principle of burning hydrogen and oxygen in the high temperature range. Combustion chamber is made from ultrahigh-temperature ceramics and comprises a hollow and completely self-contained resonator, which is also made from ultrahigh-temperature ceramics. At the same time, the resonator can be made in the form of a Helmholtz resonator, and the high temperature region, in its turn, can be about 3,000 °C.
EFFECT: complete autonomy of operation of hydrogen-oxygen combustion chamber with hollow Helmholtz resonator in conditions of periodic starts.
