FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. A UE device connected to a communication system other than a terrestrial one and containing many transmission points initiates the transmission of a measurement report depending on the measurement of the signal parameter received from the transmission point of the system performed by the UE device and the comparison of the measured parameter with a threshold, the value of which changes according to a previously known function depending on the expected position of the UE device relative to the transmission point.
EFFECT: implementation of a measurement mode for a cellular user device (UE) optimized for measurements with respect to satellite base stations or satellite transceiver stations connecting UE devices to terrestrial base stations.
