SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering. A method of changing a service cell in a cellular communication network is proposed. A radio channel is set up between a service cell which services a network node and a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal sends radio measurement reports for cells different from the service cell. If a predefined condition is met, pre-configuration is done for setting up a radio channel for one or more cells which are candidates for the new service cell.
