FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: wireless terminal device and a base station provide a handover for a subset of the channels associated with the wireless terminal device. The subset of channels contains a number of channels smaller than the number of all channels associated with the wireless terminal device. Thus, upon completion of the handover procedure, at least one channel will remain connected to the source base station.
EFFECT: increased capacity of the communication system.
