FIELD: water electrolysis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for electrolysis of water in the arctic zone, containing a solid polymer electrolyzer with pneumatically isolated cavities for hydrogen and oxygen, connected to a power supply and control unit, as well as to a water supply system with a supply of deionized water, including hydrogen and oxygen gas separators connected to the corresponding cavities cell with its input and output hydraulic lines and equipped with pneumatic lines with locking elements. The device is characterized in that it contains a thermal catalytic recombiner connected to a hydrogen gas separator through a shut-off element, a container with a supply of alcohol connected through a shut-off element to a container with an aqueous solution of alcohol, in turn, connected through a dosing pump to the circulation circuits of the hydrogen and oxygen cavities, a container with a supply of deionized water consists of at least three sections connected through a dosing pump to the circulation circuits of hydrogen and oxygen cavities, liquid level sensors in hydrogen and oxygen gas separators connected to the power supply and control unit, heat exchange sections installed in the electrolytic cell, containers with deionized water and thermal catalytic recombiner are connected to a common coolant circulation circuit with a circulation pump, and the device as a whole is provided with a heat-insulating shell.
EFFECT: improving the operational characteristics of a device for electrolysis of water, which consists in its effective use at sharply negative ambient temperatures typical for the Arctic regions, which makes it possible to use it as a source of hydrogen (and oxygen) for the regions of the Far North.
