SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for identifying a Brassica napus plant sample containing a low fibre content, comprising obtaining a nucleic acid sample from a Brassica napus plant; sample screening for nucleic acid containing one or more marker alleles associated with low fibre content, located in chromosomal interval N13 in Brassica napus, which is flanked by donor allele A at position 220 SEQ ID NO: 1 and donor allele A at position 101 SEQ ID NO: 89, and a method for producing Brassica napus meal with low fibre content, comprising identifying a plant sample by this method; method of producing a Brassica napus plant containing low fibre content, comprising recovering or obtaining a nucleic acid sample from each of one or more Brassica napus plants or idioplasms thereof; screening each sample and collecting the first Brassica napus plant or its idioplasm; then crossing the first plant with the second plant to produce descendant plants, where descendant plants contain one or more marker alleles associated with low fibre content, and a method of producing Brassica napus cake with low fibre content, involving obtaining a Brassica napus plant with a low fibre content feature, obtaining seeds from the Brassica napus plant and producing a seed cake.
EFFECT: inventions provide a wider range of methods for reducing fibre content in canola.
