FIELD: cryogenic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to versions of a device for freezing samples, such as tissue samples of a patient or animal, in particular for fast freezing of several samples without the need for successive preparation and freezing of each sample separately, as well as a method of forming and freezing tissue samples. Device for forming and freezing tissue samples of a patient or animal comprises a cassette with a lid, wherein in said cassette two or more molds are formed, each of which is configured to accommodate a corresponding tissue sample, means for supporting said cartridge during its direct or indirect contact with the cryogenic medium, eliminating the need for an operator to hold said cartridge, as well as insulated container for cryogenic medium, wherein said cassette is configured to be oriented inside insulated container in required position.
EFFECT: possibility of fast, safe and reliable freezing of several samples of patient’s or animal’s tissue.
