FIELD: powder metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy and can be used in the manufacture of products from powder materials, in particular fuel pellets for nuclear reactors, chemical and other industries. Installation for electropulse pressing of powder materials includes a pulsed energy source, a metal holder with a ceramic matrix made of aluminum-silicon oxynitride, an upper movable punch inserted into the rod, a lower fixed punch mounted on the lower base, a plate with two bushings, on which the holder is fixed with a matrix, and the bushings are spring-loaded and made with the possibility of sliding vertically along the guides installed on the lower base. In this case, the upper and lower punches are made of two parts. The end part of the punches, which is in contact with the compacted powder, is made of tungsten and has a recess h=0.4-0.6 D, where D is the diameter of the end part of the punch, with a wall thickness t=2-3 mm, for entry into it of an average part of the punch, made of tool steel, inside which a copper bar is inserted. Moreover, the height of the end part of the punch is H=0.8-1.2 D, and the diameter of the middle part of the punch is d=0.8-0.95 D. The diameter of the copper bar is chosen in such a way that the total electrical resistance of the punch would be less than or equal to the electrical resistance if it were made entirely of tungsten, in addition, both parts of the punch are interconnected by a metal pin with a diameter of d1=0.2-0.4 D.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a significant number of samples from powders of refractory materials without destroying the matrix and punches.
