FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to electric pulse application of hardening coating from powder on surface of steel part. Method includes sintering powder filling in non-electroconductive matrix on part surface under male die pressure by passing current pulses. Powder used is nanopowder of nitrides or carbides of metals, which is filled in form of layer with thickness of 0.1–0.5 mm into female die, arranged on flat surface of part, and copper powder, which is filled with layer with height of 5–10 mm on top of nanopowder layer of nitrides or carbides of metals. A stepped puncheon is used with an upper projecting part of a larger diameter and a lower working part of a smaller diameter, on which an elastic gasket is put on against the upper part. Male die is inserted by lower working part into female die. Powder filling is pressed at the same time and female die is pressed to part surface, then current pulse is passed.

EFFECT: enabling application of thin nanopowder coatings.
