SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a beverage preparation system for controlling a beverage preparation process by injecting a liquid into a cartridge and to a method of controlling extraction pressure during preparation of a beverage when injecting a liquid into a cartridge. Beverage preparation system for controlling a beverage preparation process by injecting a liquid into a cartridge comprises a pump configured to adjust pressure, to provide different pressure values when at least one of its driving characteristics, such as pump speed, a sensor for measuring the operating parameter of the pump, such as current consumed by the pump, and a flow sensor for measuring a flow parameter of the liquid supplied to the cartridge. Beverage preparation system additionally comprises a control unit configured to control the extraction pressure in the cartridge by correcting drive characteristics of the pump based on preset pressure interpolation data depending on the measured fluid flow parameter and the measured operating parameter of the pump.
EFFECT: improved system of beverage preparation process control, by means of which it is possible to ensure reproducible high quality of beverage for complex profiles of parameters and/or for multiple different beverages.
