FIELD: fish farming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fish farming and can be used to assess the degree of preparedness of female sturgeon fish for spawning. The method includes an assessment of the degree of maturity of the gonads of female sturgeon fish according to the salt content in the urine. A single urine sample is taken from female sturgeon fish in the pre-spawning period with a volume of 0.5-1.0 ml. In urine, the salt content is determined, which is 0.5-1.0 g/l for females of stage I of gonad maturity, 1.1-2.0 g/l for females of stage II of gonad maturity, 2.1-2.5 g/l for females of stage III of gonad maturity, 2.6-4.0 g/l for females of stage IV of gonad maturity.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the accuracy of assessing the degree of maturity of the gonads of female sturgeon fish.
