SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing polymorphic form I of anhydrous (R)-2-hydroxy-2-methyl-4-(2,4,5-trimethyl-3,6-dioxocyclohexa-1,4-dienyl)butanamide, having an X-ray powder diffraction pattern, containing characteristic peaks at the following angle values: 12.06, 15.33, 17.03 and 17.26, where said values can vary by ±0.2, wherein the method includes the following steps: (a) contacting (R)-2-hydroxy-2-methyl-4-(2,4,5-trimethyl-3,6-dioxocyclohexa-1,4-dienyl)butanamide with a liquid which is isopropanol or mixture of 98 % isopropanol/2 % water (v/v); and (b) removing liquid.
EFFECT: polymorphic form I of anhydrous (R)-2-hydroxy-2-methyl-4-(2,4,5-trimethyl-3,6-dioxocyclohexa-1,4-dienyl)butanamide, having high stability, solubility and non-hygroscopicity.
