FIELD: polymers.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer composites made of polyphenylene sulphide and finished carbon fibre, intended as structural polymer materials, and to a method for production thereof. Polymer composite includes polyphenylene sulphide and carbon fibres coated with an organic finishing agent - 1,3-diaminobenzene. The amount of the finishing agent relative to the carbon fibre is 1 to 4 wt.%.The amount of finished carbon fibre in the polymer composite is 20 wt.%.

EFFECT: resulting polymer composites exhibit improved physical and mechanical properties due to the introduction of a finishing agent enhancing the wettability of the filler and increasing the boundary interactions between the glass fibre and the polyphenylene sulphide matrix.
