FIELD: composite materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer composite material made of polyphenylene sulphide with carbon fibres intended as structural polymer materials, and to a method for production thereof. Polymer composite material includes polyphenylene sulphide and carbon fibres coated with an organic finishing agent, wherein 3-(phenyl sulphonyl)benzene sulphochloride is used as a finishing agent. The amount of the finishing substance to carbon fibre is 1 to 4 wt.%. The amount of finished carbon fibre in the composite material is 20 wt.%.

EFFECT: resulting composite materials exhibit improved physical and mechanical and rheological properties due to the introduction of a finishing agent enhancing the wettability of the filler and increasing the boundary interactions between the carbon fibre and the polyphenylene sulphide matrix.
