The agent for the prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, nasopharynx and upper respiratory tract by photodynamic therapy contains a photosensitizer of porphyrin nature pheophytin a (13,15-[15'-methoxycyclopentan-13'-one]yl-17-[2-carboxyfitylethyl]-15-carboxymethyl-17,18-trans-dihydro-3-vinyl-8-ethyl-2,7,12,18-tetramethylporphyrin) of formula (1) or pheophytin b or their derivative in quantity, natural or modified lipids, in a mixture or in the form of individual substances, and water. The components form liposomes or emulsions and are used in the stated amounts. Also presented is the use of this agent for the prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, nasopharynx and upper respiratory tract by photodynamic therapy.

EFFECT: use of the group of inventions provides a preventive, therapeutic and reparative effect in relation to local immunity cells (macrophages, monocytes) during a controlled procedure at reduced light loads, ensuring its speed, accessibility, comfort, as well as good hiding power and increased penetration of the photosensitizer into the tissue.
