SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture and can be used in the cultivation of gourds under film in tunnel shelters. The method includes the turnover of layers, loosening of the soil, leveling and compaction, the formation of irrigation furrows, with the division of the tillage zone into three equal strips. The layers of the topsoil to the right and left of the symmetry line of the tillage zone are cut to the depth of the formation of the irrigation furrow, wrapped in different directions and shifted to the side outside the tillage zone. Grooves are opened along the outer edges of the treated strip to install film frames, then the soil layers of the extreme strips are wrapped 180° in their own furrow, loosened, leveled, and their upper layer compacted. In the middle of the treated zone, an irrigation furrow is formed, leveling the soil on the ridges.

EFFECT: method improves the quality of soil preparation for sowing melons under a film in tunnel shelters and reduces the energy intensity of tillage.
