FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used to preserve and transport tissues or parts of human or animal organs for histopathological examination. Proposed is a system for preserving a surgically explanted tissue sample, including a primary packaging unit for placing the tissue sample in a container selected from a set of containers of different sizes. Each container is equipped with a tightly sealed lid (50), wherein a hole (33) is made, wherein a check valve (51) is installed. The system also comprises a final packaging unit equipped with a filling system for filling the selected container with an aseptic medium and containing a nozzle head (28) installed movably on a vertical guide (29). The nozzle head (28) is equipped with a nozzle (31) for inserting into the check valve (51) and filling the selected container, and a nozzle (32) connected with a vacuum pump. Also proposed is a method for preserving a surgically explanted tissue sample, wherein a container is selected based on an estimate of the volume of the tissue sample, the container is tightly sealed immediately after placing the tissue sample therein, and using a nozzle (31) included in the filling system, inserted into the check valve (51) installed in the tightly sealed lid (50), the container is filled with a fixing and preserving solution.

EFFECT: complete safety both for medical workers with the eliminated risk of both contact and inhalation exposure to the fixing solution, and for the collected tissue sample.
