FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used in the treatment of dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The horizontal branches of the lower jaw are grasped with one hand, and the region of the posterior cranial fossa, including the mastoid processes of the temporal bones and the occipital bone, is grasped with the other. Then, with a coordinated movement of the hands, the flexion of the head is increased. Then the hands are smoothly brought together, increasing the compression of the TMJ area and maintaining the achieved mutual position of the bones of the skull and cervical spine, myofascial release of the TMJ area is performed until muscle relaxation and equilibrium tension appear under the arms.
EFFECT: method provides an increase in the effectiveness of the treatment of dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint.
