METHOD FOR DETERMINING INDICATIONS FOR OSTEOPATHIC TREATMENT IN PATIENTS WITH DENTAL ANOMALIES AND MUSCULO-ARTICULAR DYSFUNCTIONS OF THE TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/00

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to osteopathy and dentistry, and is intended for use in the treatment of patients with dental anomalies. The patient's neck extension angle is determined first with the mouth closed in habitual occlusion, while the patient looks down, and then with the mouth open, while the patient looks up, after which the mouth opening amplitude is determined, first in the usual head position, then - in maximum extension of the neck. If the neck extension angle with the open mouth is at least 5.35±1.1° less than the neck extension angle with the mouth closed in habitual occlusion, or the mouth opening amplitude in the neck extension position is at least 3.41±1.53 mm less, than with the usual position of the head and neck, the patient needs osteopathic treatment by an osteopathic doctor before dental intervention.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to determine the need for complex dental and osteopathic treatment in patients with dentoalveolar anomalies and muscular-articular dysfunctions of the temporomandibular joint and to prevent the development of complications associated with the lack of osteopathic treatment.
