SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a test device, a method for setting up the test process and a method for testing the steering mechanism. According to one aspect of the present invention, a test device is provided, including a drive part of the input side, made with the ability to drive the shaft of the steering mechanism provided as a sample, and a control part made with the ability to control the drive part of the input side to drive the shaft of the steering mechanism according to a given test waveform, and the control part is made with the ability to control the change in the direction of movement to the opposite, in which the direction of rotation of the steering gear shaft is immediately reversed when the angular position of the steering gear shaft reaches the position of the end stop, which is the end of the range of motion of the steering gear shaft, and the control of reversing the direction of movement includes a skipping process in which they skip to the next control point, at which, as expected, the torque will be essentially equal to the torque at the time when the angular position of the steering gear shaft reaches the position of the end stop.
EFFECT: ability to apply a load closer to the load applied to the steering mechanism mounted on a real vehicle, and makes it possible to more appropriately evaluate the sample.
