FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre-optic equipment, in particular, to installation of couplings of an optical cable, and is intended for securing optical modules of the optical cable on the coupling cassette when splicing the lengths of the optical cable. Claimed is a method for securing optical fibres in a modular tube of an optical cable, wherein silicone sealant is injected into the modular tube at the point of exit of the optical fibres from the modular tube of the optical cable, wherein a heat-shrinking tube with an inner diameter 0.2 to 0.3 mm larger than the outer diameter of the modular tube of the optical cable and with a length of up to 10-30 mm is set on the modular tube of the optical cable, and after the modular tubes of the optical cable are cut, the hydrophobic gel is washed both from the outer surface of the modular tube and from the inner surface thereof at a distance of 2 to 5 mm from the end of the modular tube of the optical cable, pressing the hydrophobic gel out of the modular tube of the optical cable, degreasing the optical fibres and the outer surface of the modular tubes of the optical cable at a distance of 20 to 30 mm and the inner surface thereof at a distance of 2 to 5 mm from the end of the modular tube of the optical cable. Then, at the point of exit of the optical fibres from the modular tube of the optical cable, silicone sealant is injected into the modular tube to a depth of 2 to 5 mm, silicone sealant is applied evenly to the outer surface of the modular tube at a distance of 5 to 10 mm from the end of the modular tube and to the optical fibres at a distance of up to 5 mm from the end of the modular tube, the heat-shrinking tube is pushed onto the end of the modular tube so that the tube covers the optical fibres exiting from the modular tube of the optical cable by about 5 to 10 mm at the point of exit of the optical fibres from the modular tube of the optical cable, the heat-shrinking tube is then upset by heating evenly, and 20 to 30 minutes after that, during polymerisation of the outer layer of silicone sealant, the optical fibres are spliced.
EFFECT: expanded scope of application.
