FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to endoscopy, and can be used for X-ray negative retrograde cholangiography in patients with allergic and anaphylactic reactions to iodine-based contrast agents. An endoscopic catheter or papillotome is inserted immediately before contrast study to the mouth of the large duodenal papilla. Cannulation of the bile duct is performed. Sterile carbon dioxide is then injected in the conditions of an operating room using an insufflator connected to the channel of the endoscopic catheter or papillotome. Up to 150 ml of sterile carbon dioxide is injected into the biliary tract with constant X-ray monitoring.
EFFECT: method eliminates the development of complications associated with introduction of iodine-containing radiopaque contrast agents (RCA) into the bile ducts during endoscopic retrograde cholangiography, due to the use of sterile carbon dioxide as a RCA.
