FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering. An AC traction substation contains power line feeders, traction transformers with an on-load tap-changer (OLTC), as well as switchgears of higher, traction voltage, a relay protection and automation device (PAD), an electrical energy metering unit (EMU), a current and voltage determination unit and communication channels. Introduction of a measuring voltage transformer connected to the underloaded traction voltage winding of a power transformer, phase meters connected to one measuring current transformer, as well as the introduction of measuring voltage transformers connected to the traction voltage windings of a traction transformer with OLTC, which are connected by communication channels to the unit for determining currents and voltages, allows to determine the current vectors in the windings of power transformers and ensure the minimum error in determining the current unbalance.
EFFECT: improving the accuracy of determining the asymmetry of the currents of the traction transformer windings in order to determine measures aimed at improving the quality of electrical energy in the external power supply system.
