FIELD: pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and pharmaceuticals, in particular, to an aqueous saline composition for application in treatment and prevention of ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions, consisting of xylitol, sea water and purified water, wherein the osmolarity of the composition at 20°C is greater than 1,000 mOsmol/l and less than 2,000 mOsmol/l. The group of inventions also includes a method for producing the aqueous composition, consisting of the following stages: a) performing microfiltration of sea water; b) adding purified water; c) mixing; d) while mixing, adding xylitol to the solution produced at stage c); e) extracting the mixture produced at stage d); wherein the amount of sea water is greater than or equal to 10% of the total mass of the aqueous composition produced at stage e), and the amount of xylitol is greater than or equal to 5% of the total mass of the aqueous composition produced at stage e). The group of inventions also includes a composition produced by the method, for application in treatment and prevention of ENT conditions.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides improved efficiency of eliminating symptoms of ENT diseases compared to other compositions based on sea water.
