METHOD FOR REMOVAL OF THE THYROID GLAND Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B17/00 A61B17/24 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2772015 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, in particular to methods for surgical removal of the thyroid gland. The thyroid lobe is mobilized from the trachea after crossing the isthmus by dissecting Berry’s ligament. Laryngeal nerve function is monitored by comparing the function of the vagus nerve before surgery with the function of the vagus nerve after surgery, as well as the function of the recurrent laryngeal nerve before surgery with the function of the recurrent laryngeal nerve after surgery. At the same time, the branches of the lower thyroid artery and veins are intersected with the mobilization of the thyroid lobe from the trachea and associated vessels. Then, lateral removal of the mobilized thyroid lobe is performed in the absence of traction of the lobe in the medial direction during the entire operation time. Further, after separating the lobe from the trachea and lower thyroid vessels, the recurrent laryngeal nerve is isolated from the medial side of the thyroid lobe. The vessels of the upper and lower parathyroid glands are isolated from the medial side of the thyroid lobe. After the mobilization of the parathyroid glands, the lower pole of the lobe is removed into the surgical wound. When the thyroid lobe is mobilized, the vessels of the upper pole are crossed.

EFFECT: method reduces the likelihood of complications during surgical removal of the thyroid gland.
