Display system with two heads comprises first and second projection heads; spatial modulator; electronic processor configured to: receive two-dimensional video data; generate, from video data, first and second sets of intensity values of virtual primary colours of the first virtual colour palette; convert first and second sets of intensity values into third and fourth sets of intensity values of predetermined primary colours of the first projection head, respectively, and dynamically adjust pixel levels of at least one spatial modulator of the first and second projection heads based on the third plurality of intensity values and the fourth plurality of intensity values; wherein the threshold brightness value is a vector of threshold values and wherein each threshold value is determined based on conversion of the first virtual colour palette to a predetermined colour palette.
