SUBSTANCE: object of the application is a device for making rods from a continuous strand (2) of material, containing a feeding node (3) for feeding a strand (2) of material, a guiding node (6) for directing a strand (2) of material, a compression unit (7) for compressing a strand and forming a continuous rod (CR) from a strand (2) of the material and the unit (8, 51, 70) of feeding the object to feed the object (9, 50, 75) to the compression unit (7), while the device is adapted for feeding three partial strands (a, b, c) of the strand (2) of the material, while partial strands (a, b, c) are fed through the guiding node (6) to the compression unit (7), characterized in that the node (8, 51, 70) of object feed is adapted to insert the object (9, 50, 75) in the radial direction of the formed continuous rod (CR) into the compression unit (7) between the partial strands (a, b, c). The object of the application is also a method for manufacturing rods from a continuous strand of the material.
