METHOD FOR OBLITERATION OF VARICOSE VEINS OF THE LOWER EXTREMITIES Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B17/00 A61B17/12 A61M25/01 A61P9/14 A61L24/00 A61L24/02

Abstract RU 2772788 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely vascular surgery. Puncture of the trunk of the target subcutaneous vein in the thigh area is performed and an adhesive catheter is inserted into its lumen. Next, a puncture of the trunk of the target subcutaneous vein is performed in the lower leg area and a catheter is inserted into its lumen. Cyanoacrylate obliteration of the target subcutaneous vein on the thigh is performed, for which, as the catheter is removed in the distal direction, glue is injected, blocking the spread of retrograde blood flow in the target subcutaneous vein within the thigh. Then, as the catheter installed in the main trunk of the target vein on the lower leg is removed, a foam sclerosant is injected into its lumen until retrograde blood flow is blocked in the distal direction.

EFFECT: method reduces the risk of complications of treatment of varicose veins while maintaining high efficiency, reduces the likelihood of a general allergic reaction due to the smaller volume of cyanoacrylate and sclerosant used for obliteration, provides complete absence of pain syndrome, good cosmetic effect.
