FIELD: battery cells.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a battery cell containing an electrolyte based on SO2. Battery cell (2, 20, 40) contains active metal, at least one positive electrode (4, 23, 44), at least one negative electrode (5, 22, 45), housing (1, 28) and electrolyte , wherein the negative electrode (5, 22, 45) contains an active material selected from the group consisting of a carbon inclusion material, an alloy-forming active material, a carbon-free intercalary material, and a conversion active material, wherein the electrolyte is based on SO2 and contains at least one conductive salt.
EFFECT: good electrical energy and performance characteristics, high operational reliability and durability, in particular, a large number of useful charge and discharge cycles without electrolyte decomposition during operation of a rechargeable battery cell, resistance to low temperatures.
