SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communication technology, and more specifically to a random access method, to a terminal device and to a network device. The terminal device transmits data according to a configuration parameter of the currently activated first bandwidth part (hereinafter – BWP), wherein the configuration parameter of the first BWP contains at least one of the first resource offset, the first bandwidth and the first subcarrier diversity. The terminal device defines the first random access resource and the second configuration parameter for performing random access. The second configuration parameter contains at least one of the second resource offset, the second bandwidth, and the second subcarrier diversity. The terminal device sends a random access request to a network device in the first random access resource and receives a random access response according to the second configuration parameter. The random access response is sent via the network device according to the random access request.

EFFECT: increase in the percentage of successful random access attempts.
