FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the training and consolidation of useful myofunctional habits to create a favorable intraoral environment while ensuring proper occlusion of teeth. An option of an intraoral training device is disclosed, designed to train the patient’s tongue and lips and containing: a U-shaped device case containing a front part and two levers, as well as an inner wall and an outer wall; a shelf connecting the inner wall and the outer wall in order to form a channel for input of the upper dental arch; a tongue training element containing upper and lower walls, made of elastic plastic material and made as a single whole with the device case in such a way that, during use, it passes backward from the inner wall and is located above the tongue with the possibility of moving as a reaction to the upward movement of the user’s tongue from a rest configuration to a training configuration. At the same time, the tongue training element is flexible with such a degree of elasticity that the user can press up on the lower wall in the direction of the upper wall, and it is provided with an offset to the rest configuration, which is provided by elastic deformation of plastic material. The elastic limit of this material exceeds the maximum pressure of the tongue of a normal population, ranging from 60 to 70 kPa. A lip training element contains upper and lower walls forming a respiratory passage, tapering to the outer wall, and opposite side edges, and protrudes forward from the front part, and is made in such a way that, during use, it passes between patient’s lips with the possibility of moving as a reaction to the movement of the user’s lower lip from the rest configuration to the training configuration. The respiratory passage in the training configuration should have a smaller cross-sectional area for breathing than in the rest position, while the lip training element is provided with an offset to the rest configuration. The second option of an intraoral training device, a method for training organs of the oral cavity, and a method for therapeutic strengthening of the tongue are also described.
EFFECT: possibility of training the tongue and lips in the correct position with the strengthening of tongue muscles with sufficient strength for normal swallowing is achieved.
