FIELD: metal structures manufacture.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of metal structures from high-strength steels with a yield strength of more than 420 MPa. Consumable electrode welding is carried out at a welding current of 120–310 A and a voltage of 18–33 V. The wire feed is carried out at a speed of 4–12 m/min, and the wire stick-out is maintained in the range of 10–30 mm. A consumable electrode of the following composition is used, wt.%: C not more than 0.10, Si 0.5-0.9, Mn 1.2-1.6, Cr 0.06-0.1, Ni 0.8-1 ,2, Cu 0.1-0.8, Ti 0.05-0.1, Al 0.01-0.025, the rest is iron and inevitable impurities. The supply of protective gas, in particular a mixture of argon and carbon dioxide, into the weld zone is carried out at a flow rate of 6-18 l/min. Before starting welding, the base metal is preheated to a temperature of 75-115°C at a distance of not more than 35 mm from the center of the weld. The temperature between passes is not more than 190°C.

EFFECT: method ensures high quality of the seams of welded joints when it is implemented in the factory.
