SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a plastic lid for tight form-fit closing of the neck of a liquid container, including an upper plate (1) provided for covering the opening of the container and an external seal (7) extending around the perimeter along the edge of the upper plate (1), provided for engaging with the external side of the neck (20) of the container, defining the opening, as well as an internal seal (5) extending around the perimeter inside and parallel to the outer seal (7), which is provided for engaging with the inner side of the neck of the container, wherein the external and internal seals (5, 7) each extend nearly perpendicular or with a slight inclination from the inner side (11) of the upper plate (1). In order to create the lid, as well as a container with the lid, preventing the lid from breaking off at high overall over-pressure, the invention that proposes that the external seal (7) on at least one peripheral section has a weakened area (6, 6′, 6′′), consisting of a peripheral section of the external seal, axially shortened on the angular sector (α) so that the external seal (7) comes loose at a lower internal over-pressure than when the external seal is made without a weakened area.

EFFECT: production of a tightly fitting plastic container lid.
