SUBSTANCE: method includes following stages: i) providing cutting device (100) on the floor of a drilling rig, containing cutting element (130) made without the possibility of rotation and with the possibility of progressive cutting movement through tubular structure (1); ii) placing cutting device (100) in a cutting position outside from tubular structure (1); iii) fixing the position of cutting device (100) relatively to tubular structure (1), and iv) activating cutting device (100) for cutting tubular structure (1) by means of progressive movement of at least one cutting element (130) through tubular structure (1). The invention also relates to a cutting device to be used in this method.

EFFECT: fast cutting of a tubular structure on the floor of a drilling rig compared to existing abrasive cutting methods.
