FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a wetting composition. Described is a wetting composition intended for adding to an aqueous liquid to reduce the surface tension of the aqueous liquid, wherein said wetting composition consists of: (a) 20 to less than 50 wt.% of one or more C10-C14 alcohols; (b) 25 to 70 wt.% of one or more surface-active substances selected from a group including a nonionic, cationic, anionic, and amphoteric surface-active substance; and (c) 5 to 50 wt.% of a polar component including at least one selected from a group including (i) water and (ii) up to 25 wt.% of a water-miscible C1-C3 organic solvent, and d) 0 to 10 wt.% of other additives.
EFFECT: development of alternative compositions and methods capable of improving the water wetting affinity of a low-energy surface.
